Little Konzett is an Austrian producer, recording, mix and mastering engineer, musician and owner of „Little Big Beat Studios“. The studios are based in the Western part of Austria and in Liechtenstein.
I like old techniques such as recording on tape and using old pre-amps and microphones. At “Little Big Beat Studios” we have a lot of vintage equipment that is still in use. But I also like to try out new techniques. With the new 360-degree world, we try to bring both, old and new techniques, together. The first time we used the AMBEO 3D audio technology was at a “Studio Live Session” at “Little Big Beat Studios” in Liechtenstein. The idea behind the “Studio Live Sessions” is to bring a band into a special situation by recording on analog audio tape, having an entire camera team capturing the session and inviting a live audience, all of them wearing Sennheiser headphones.
In our situation, the band was performing in a circle in the middle of the room and the audience was surrounding the musicians. It was...
„the perfect opportunity to use the 360-degree technology and AMBEO was the best solution for it.“
The AMBEO VR Mic can be used in all directions, the quality of the sound is very good and it is easy to mount and use. Since the audience was surrounding the band, it was best to record the session as close to reality as possible. That is why we placed the AMBEO VR Mic as room microphone in the middle of the band, right above the 360-degree camera that we were using to capture the session on video. The AMBEO VR Mic delivers four signals. If you would try to build the entire setup with four different microphones, it would not be possible to match it that perfectly. With Pro Tools, the four signals can easily be managed with the corresponding plugins, creating a high quality product.
My experience with the AMBEO 3D audio technology is very good. The 3D technology allows us to create a completely new workflow and a special atmosphere. Our goal is to provide this unique experience not only for the live audience at the session, but as well to our online community. The new 3D audio technology is a major step in the audio world.

These special events are often captured by a big film and photo team.
